The live CD's are an outstanding trip down memory lane, which also finds Rush at (arguably) at the height of their career. This is what ESL should have been set-wise, although the sound on ESL is a bit more polished. Overall though, a great listening experience. The studio CD is flawless, as you would expect. Moving Pictures sounds just fantastic. This 3 CD set will be a great listen for years to come.

I saw this tour, on of the 17 I attended. This CD brought me so much joy. I listen to it straight through. It was incredible hearing the old medlies of songs they smashed together to fit in their 2-hour window of the time. I have recommended this CD to everyone. There is no band like Rush. I loved growing up with them. I saw my first tour, (Hemispheres) when I was 14. I took my oldest son to Vapors Trails when he was 14, I took my youngest son to Clockwork Angels. when he was 14. How many bands have such a lineage of fandom? They will forever be played as long as I live.

The tour captured here was the second of the many many times I saw them live. It was a virtual trip down memory lane as I listened to it.

Moving Pictures is always going to have a special place in my heart after seeing the tour to support the album. The Toronto concert included in the 3 disc set was incredibly similar to the Madison Square Garden show I attended a few months later. The first listen I was transported back 40 years and I think it will take several sessions before I can escape my memories and focus on the production and other nuances of this presentation. Happily, with the discs in hand I have a that to look forward to - but for now I’m loving this little time machine. Well done, with all the celebrations and anniversary editions. It’s quite obvious that the merchandise for Rush is for the fans!

Where do I start? Cause I guess the other references are ATWAS… and for me … the King Biscuit 1980 St Louis show. So this for me is an extension of the ATWAS record as a official release. I like the mix… guitar left…bass right… and the panning of the toms. But the songs are updated in the live context. It’s cool to hear that period in this particular recording. The performance is impeccable. Also really cool to hear the selected series of medleys of the day. Such a great show in this recording. Really enjoyable. Much Thanks to the Boys in Rush and the entire management and touring crews for this particular experience through all these years. The impact is more than can be expressed here. Rock on!!

Great live recordings. They are bit raw and capture the time when Rush were becoming more known to a greater audience. They are such a tight band even at that time, and continued to write such complicated songs in odd time signatures, which could go unnoticed by some. Geddy rips his vocals and fills the spaces within the songs with such killer bass riffs. Alex has the same talent to create such full melody you would think two guitarists were at work. And Neil laid down consistent rhythms and texture to each track to propel the songs into such solid masterpieces. Man, what a time in Rush’s career! If you love Rush, this is a must buy three-piece disk set to own. Enjoy!
