Every bassist should own this book! In fact, anyone interested in music and/or musical instruments would love it too. I purchased this for my husband and he absolutely loves it. So many amazing photos and a fun, interesting read as well. It will always have a special place in our home. We have also purchased this as a gift for a friend, because it is truly that cool! Buy it...you won't regret it! Highly recommend.

This is the quintessential book about basses, period. The pictures alone are worth the cost of the book. I was lucky enough to get my hands on the Ultra edition. Only 250 copies. What a treat!

Excellent book. When I saw it advertised on instagram I knew my husband would love it. He’s enjoying browsing through the pages and dreaming of more guitars to buy. This would have been a five star review however the book is crushed on 3 of 4 corners. It was packaged extremely well so I’m sure it can’t be blamed on the shipper. It looks like it’s was damaged in house and just sold as is. It doesn’t change the content but it’s still disappointing to receive a nice book with the corners bent up.

I bought the book for myself before Christmas and I just fell in love with the book. Geddy never does anything half-ass. When he puts his mind to something, he goes all the way. This book is no different. This book is absolutely beautiful with the pictures of the bass guitars in Geddy's collection and the interviews w/ the very best bass players in the world. I bought a book for my friend in Atlanta that got me into playing the bass six months ago. If you are a fan of the bass guitar or the guitar in general, I would highly recommend this book. It is well worth the money and you will not be disappointed in the least.

Amazing content with superb photography and insightful narratives on the history and nuances of Geddy’s impressive collection of bass guitars. I would have rated the book with 5 stars had it not been for a slightly smashed corner (shipping issue) and binding glue that seeped between pages 402 & 403, which tore the top center corners of both pages.

This is indeed a thing of beauty. I held off purchasing a copy, not sure whether the topic would interest me. But of course Geddy makes it interesting! I guess I should have known.... The pictures are magnificent and the descriptions and detail provided by the author demonstrate and articulate a passion and love for the instrument that makes you smile. The oddities are...well, very odd, and enormous fun. And the anecdotes so interesting, particularly for fans, revealing the life and times not just of our favourite bass player, but also of particular instruments which Geddy brings to life so vividly. So if you can find the dollars (it's not cheap but you get an awful lot of book) then treat yourself, you won't regret it.
